私は、絵が好きだった。描くのも好きだったし、観るのも好きだった。極端に言えば、小学校、いいえ、幼稚園の時からだった。私が幼年期を過ごした地からは、富士山がよく見えた。幼稚園に通っていた時分、多分、初冬だと思う。ふと見ると、富士山が見えた。すっきりと、見えた。それがなんと、初冠雪の富士だった。それを見た瞬間、私は、あることに気づいた。これを、絵にしたい。しかも、そのチャンスはいまをおいてはないと。そこで、幼稚園には行かず、すぐ家に戻って、クレヨンを出して来て、それを無心に描いたものだ。どんな作品ができたか、それは定かではないし、なんらの足跡も残っていない。とまあ、これが私の絵との来歴の始まりだ。その間に、私が関心を持った画家といえば、青木繁。この人に参った。特に、「海の幸」には、参ったね。葛飾北斎にも傾注したね。「冨嶽三十六景」は、何百回、何千回、見たか知れない、だから、太宰治の「冨嶽百景」には特別な思いがある。今回、まさにこれを気炎と言わずして、何を奇縁と言えるか、そんな思いで、わが人生を、「冨嶽三十六景」に準えて、紡いでみることになった。なってしまった。まあ、これが紹介さ。 Read more
